Metrorail service suspended due to technical fault

Metro rail service stopped due to technical fault. The authorities said that train movement has been stopped since 9:30 am on Wednesday (August 9). Metrorail will resume operation after the fault is fixed.

Tickets are not being sold at the capital's Uttara Uttar (Diabari) and Agargaon stations as the metro rail service is closed. A crowd of passengers was seen at the station.

According to the sources of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited, the company managing Metrorail, two trains from Agargaon to Uttara suddenly got stuck at Pallabi and Kazipara at around 9 am. The passengers were then alighted from the train. Later two trains were taken to Uttara Uttar station. Train services have been suspended since then.

An official of the organization said that it is not yet known what kind of fault has occurred in the train. Trying to find out. If the fault is detected, it will be fixed and the metro rail movement will be resumed.

Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) is responsible for the construction and management of metro rail in Dhaka. Director (Operation) of the organization Nasir Uddin said, it is believed that something may have fallen on the power line. It has stopped the electricity supply. Our workers are walking along the railway line to see where the problem is. The problem will be identified and fixed. After this, the Metrorail will run.
